Vilawatt is here to stay. Last July, the first contracts were signed with the energy company, and we now have around 100 of them.
Who were the lucky ones?
The first contracts as associated clients were signed with 11 Viladecans residents, the founding members of the Citizen Association for the Energy Transition (Asociación Ciudadana para la Transición Energética). The new organisation was created to make headway towards the energy transition, create a new energy culture and do so in an innovative way. Vilawatt needs citizen engagement and participation throughout the entire process, so a neighbourhood association had to be created. To do so, the company offered its founding members the chance to be its first clients.
And this summer we haven’t stopped for a moment! Surely you’ve seen us on the street with the “Vilawatt Gelat” (Vilawatt Ice Cream), and perhaps you’ve even sampled one of our favourite ice creams. Come on… fess up!
What? Were you on holiday and missed it?
You’ve got no excuses this time! We are looking forward to seeing you at the town festival (Festa Major) this week. Vilawatt will be there at the proclamation, the Mamullada water parade… and of course, we’ll be back with more ice cream in our cart. You can’t get out of it this time!
And what about the autumn? More and better stuff! October will arrive full of surprises… We are planning to hold an event at the end of the month to celebrate the company’s first 100 days. Will you join us? You can’t turn us down! 100 is too important a number and we want to celebrate it with all of you.
Schools will also be featured in an event in mid-October. The ecological transition and better energy habits are coming to classrooms to motivate the youngest and most creative minds in the city to help save the planet.
