Espai Vilawatt Professionals is a shared learning space where companies and professionals in the construction and energy efficiency sectors share their experience of the trends and challenges they face in their daily work.
A total of 31 companies attended the first five sessions of this initiative held over the past six months, from September 2018 to February 2019. With 14 participants on average at each session, at Espai Vilawatt the professionals got the chance to work with other participating companies and got help from technicians and entities that specialise in this sector.
THE CHALLENGE OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Ongoing research to reduce power consumption and operating costs in recent years, along with a firm commitment to the environment, has led most organisations to put in place strategies to design, create and develop products that decrease energy use.
In Viladecans, we're committed to developing a strong, competitive industrial sector that can face new market trends. So, Espai Vilawatt Professionals aims to promote collaboration among participating companies and other stakeholders to set up a group of experts in the sector with the capacity to generate business opportunities in the world of sustainable construction.
LABORATORY OF IDEAS FOR SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
At the first five sessions held, we explained the Vilawatt project and other success stories regarding sustainable construction from companies in the sector, and shared useful, necessary tools to incorporate into the business fabric through information sessions. The participants, for their part, contributed ideas for future innovation projects in the fields of architecture, engineering, woodworking and finishes, building administration, efficient equipment and energy consultancy, among others.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The response from participants over the course of these five sessions was very favourable and they were interested in tying it into a new series of events to continue debating new topics, share information on the project for energy-efficient refurbishment of buildings and homes, present the draft of the catalogue of services and review the actions before and after refurbishing the homes.
