CAMELOT, the European project to encourage democratic and civic participation, visited us

CAMELOT, the European project to encourage democratic and civic participation, visited Viladecans to get a first-hand look at Vilawatt, the local commitment to action to bring about the energy transition needed to fight climate change.

The conference ‘How citizens, towns and metropolitan areas take part in projects funded through the EU Cohesion Policy’ organised by AMB kicked off with a presentation of Vilawatt from the very beginning to present day, when in addition to offering services to the town the initiative is also being exported to three European cities through the URBACT-subsidised project Vilawatt UTM. Then participants got a tour of the offices of the Vilawatt local energy company and one of the buildings refurbished to be more energy efficient.

The European CAMELOT project is made up of the metropolitan areas of Milan, Oporto, Stuttgart, Gdańsk, Bari and Barcelona; the region of Stuttgart, the city of Zagreb and the European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA) of France.

Vilawatt – UTM, which is part of the European URBACT program, is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
