Viladecans explores youth projects in Cartagena

The meeting, framed in the European project URBACT NextGen YouthWork of which Viladecans is a member, consisted of a study visit where the Cartagena City Council presented the actions they are promoting through their Youth and European Projects area: the information and youth orientation, the Corresponsible project, in which young people are trained to be speakers of the main news and events, and Mandarache, a project that encourages reading.

Youth professionals from the partner cities of Finland, Italy, North Macedonia, Hungary, Romania and Spain had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the successful projects and experiences of the city of Cartagena.

During the day, the challenges faced by the Youth Services of Cartagena were also raised and possible solutions and approach proposals were formulated in a session in which the 10 partner cities of the project participated, in online and in-person formats.

The next transnational meeting of the project will take place in Viladecans during the month of October.

A hybrid and sustainable future for the young people of Viladecans

The aim of the NextGen YouthWork project is to create a long-term vision and strategy for the digital work of Municipal Youth Services to serve as a platform to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all young people have access to the same opportunities and services.

NextGen YouthWork aims to develop and improve the digital work of youth services through innovative digital solutions at city level.
