Garrote revalidates the World Cup

Sergio Garrote continues breaking barriers. For the third time in a row, the handbiker has won the Paracycling World Cup. After a brilliant end to the championship, he was crowned champion as in 2022 and 2019 (for two years the championship was not contested due to the COVID).

The athlete from Viladecans won the title with victory in the road and time trial races at the third and last meeting of the calendar, held in Huntsville (United States) from May 26 to 28. In the fight against the time trial he won ahead of the American Cody Wills and in the on-line test ahead of the New Zealander Rory Pixeu.

After collecting four silver and two gold medals during this championship, Garrote finished at the top of the classification with 328 points, to the 240 of the French Florián Jouanny, who did not compete in the American event.

The title is a great prelude to the World Cup, which will be held in Glasgow (Scotland) in August.
