A TRIP BACK IN TIME
The Mercado Medieval (Medieval Market) is organised by Traders’ Network and the Town Council and marks the start of the Christmas festivities. It’s one of the most popular and anticipated events in the city’s cultural calendar. For three days the old town and the street of Doctor Reig become the centre of different activities so you can live the medieval lifestyle in the 21st century. An entire medieval encampment is erected around the gardens of Magdalena Modolell. Fakirs and jesters arrive, as do vendors from neighbouring villages, animal trainers, knights templar and a whole series of characters who fill Viladecans with colour.
There are attractions, enjoyable dances, knightly duels with all kinds of weapons, tales and medieval songs for the kids, with troubadours, parades and craft workshops. It’s a real adventure!

One of the star attractions every year. The menu includes magnificent medieval delicacies prepared with local produce from the Parc Agrari (Agricultural Park). The banquet perfectly recreates a medieval atmosphere with troubadours’ tales from the court of James I, juggling, fire-eating and knife-throwing displays.
