THE NATURE EXPERIENCE

Close to Barcelona, yet close to nature. In Viladecans that’s how we like it: the urban environment in harmony with the surrounding countryside. Enjoy nature at 300 meters, from the top of the Sierra de Montbaig, or down at sea level with pristine beaches by the Llobregat Delta.

From 0 to 300, nature is your playground!

Are you a beach person, or do you prefer to head for the hills?

In Viladecans, whatever you choose you won’t have to look far. The city has a number of ‘green lungs’, such as Mas Ratés forest park with 14 hectares of pine forest – perfect for a walk – or Can Trius forest park, crisscrossed by trails. Both boast forests of white pine, stone pine, and holm oak in a natural setting.

And if you’re more of a beach person, how about this…

The beaches of Viladecans have a total of 2.5 km of dunes flanked by an extensive pine forest that adds a dash of green to the coast. There’s something for everyone: if you like to stretch out, relax and listen to the waves lapping on the shore, then head for Cal Francès, or continue on to El Remolar. Both beaches lie within the Delta’s nature reserves. Families may prefer La Murtra or La Pineda; both offer a range of services and equipment but still in a natural setting.

Privileged spaces

In fact, one of Viladecans’ most special natural areas lies right next to the beaches. The Llobregat Delta is one of the three most important wetland areas in Catalonia and a key site for bird watching in Spain since it lies along migratory routes connecting Europe with Africa.

To enjoy the views of this varied landscape stretching off to the horizon you’ll need to make the trip up to the San Ramón hermitage which offers a natural lookout point from the summit of the Sierra de Montbaig

As you can see, in Viladecans we’re not short on nature!
