La Murtra beach

This is La Murtra beach

Bordering the town of Gavà at the natural boundary of the La Murtra stream which gives the beach its name, and stretching all the way to the breakwater, La Murtra’s 220 meters of sand are the most family-friendly in Viladecans. Fine, golden sand and a dune system bordered by pine forest call to mind pristine beaches, but with all the convenience of services.

La Murtra holds a special place in our hearts so we closely monitor ecosystem recovery to encourage nesting birds and preserve indigenous flora.

La Murtra is the most accessible of all Viladecans’ beaches. If you like walking as well as lazing on the sand, take a stroll along the 800 metres of restored coastal path that is adapted for pedestrians and cyclists and which links La Murtra with La Pineda de Cal Francès. Interpretative panels can be found along the route so you can learn more about this wonderful ecosystem.

Note: dogs are not permitted on the beach between April 1st and September 30th
