La Pineda Beach

La Pineda

THIS IS LA PINEDA BEACH

Stretching over a kilometre to the east of the La Murtra breakwater, a large part of La Pineda’s sands are protected by the Natura 2000 Network, with a significant area of vegetated dunes which has regenerated the ecosystem.

If you’re wondering how the beach got its name, just take a look around. As you’ll see, the name reflects the importance of the pine grove (pineda) which runs along the coast and whose green colours contrast beautifully with the golden sands where we lay out our towels. This forest has been recognised at European level as a priority habitat.

Access here was highly restricted for many years, so the area was protected from human activity. The dunes, formed by the wind piling up the sand, give it a really natural look. It is, however, the best-equipped beach in Viladecans, with the most services.

Getting to La Pineda couldn’t be easier: just choose whether to walk or cycle via the former Filipines campsite, or go by car via the C-31 and C-32. Note, however, that, unlike La Murtra beach, La Pineda has no car parking. For cyclists, a bike park is available with space for eight bikes.

You can also get there on public transport. The VB4 bus line (operational in July and August) drops you just 300 metres from the beach.

Lines L94 (Barcelona-Castelldefels) and L95 (Gavà-Barcelona) also stop right next to the beach.
