Els Reguerons lake

What can you expect to find here? Well, the Els Reguerons site is made up of wet meadows and reed beds surrounded by an agricultural plain with numerous market gardens. The site was designated a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) in 1994 and is part of the Natura 2000 Network.  

The reserve covers 30 hectares and has become a perfect habitat for numerous species of birds, some very rare, such as the little bittern and water rail. 

Did you know you might also be able to catch a glimpse of a great bittern? This bird is in danger of extinction on the Iberian Peninsula so we’re cooperating with efforts to conserve the area and protect it. 

A pioneering solution in ecosystem management has been the introduction of free-roaming horses in accordance with an innovative new project which aims to manage the area and its plant species in a more natural way.
