Shopping areas in the town centre

STORES OF VILADECANS

Shops aren’t just somewhere to buy stuff, they’re also part of our lives and history. Who doesn’t remember gazing in wonder at the shelves and shop fronts on a childhood shopping trip? Who doesn’t love the smell of fresh-baked bread in the morning, or seeing the colours of the fruit as you walk down the street?

Viladecans train station is close to the shopping centres in Carretera de la Vila. But don’t stop there; continuing on towards the old town, in just 12 minutes you come to the main local shops and town markets, always lively and bustling.

Take a walk through the market in Plaza de Europa, the Plaza de la Vila, the streets of Jaume Abril and Doctor Reig, Rambla Modolell and Torrent Ballester. Passing through the bustling streets of the old town, before you know it you arrive at the Mercado de la Constitución (Constitution Market). Along the way, you’ll find urban parks, bakeries where you can try delicious pastries, terraces where you can relax with a drink, and restaurants with dishes made with local produce from the Parc Agrari (Agricultural Park).

The range and variety of shops in Viladecans set it apart from other destinations in the Baix Llobregat.

Our local businesses

Local business are specialised in all kinds of products. Offering expert, tailored advice on any subject, our shopkeepers can answer any question and solve all your problems. Attention to the smallest detail and personalised service are the hallmarks of this type of shop. What a difference it makes!

The local shops are also at the centre of a number of different activities and exhibitions each season. Check our calendar and come join us!

In the run-up to Christmas there are special giveaways, and competitions when the shop windows are decorated like at no other time of year. There’s also a giant Tió (traditional Catalan Christmas log) to delight the little ones and, of course, the big ones.
Also important is the Feria de Sant Isidre (St Isidore Fair). Originally an agricultural fair, it has grown to incorporate more sectors all the time and has been one of the town’s established cultural traditions since 1970.

There are also themed fairs, such as the Feria Medieval in November; a real journey back in time. Then there’s also the Semana del Tomate (Tomato Week; both fun and good for you), and other promotional campaigns featuring local produce from our fields. Did you know up to 24 different varieties of tomato are grown in the nearby Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat (Lower Llobregat Agricultural Park)?

And when things start to heat up, businesses come out to take the air, bringing a range of attractions with them such as bouncy castles and trampolines for the little ones, filling the streets with fun.

If you want to keep up to date with everything we've got going on, not miss a thing and rally live and breathe Viladecans, our local shops are the centre of numerous activities and special shows every season.
